Young Musicians After-School String Program

The Salisbury Symphony After School Strings (SSASS) offers twice-weekly instruction to beginning and intermediate violin, viola and cello students aged 8 and older.

The group setting provides a safe and enjoyable environment to learn new skills and develop natural talent. The two-semester program culminates in an end-of-season Spring Gala Concert, showcasing the young players’ progress.

The After-School Strings program is a highly interactive and skill-focused course designed for both beginners and intermediate string players. Group instruction offers the advantage of learning in a collective, fostering peer feedback and collaborative learning. This dynamic environment nurtures musical talent while also building on team skills and mutual support. The curriculum caters to each individual's needs, focusing on improving technical abilities, understanding musical notation, and playing a variety of musical styles. The program is offered in two levels which each take around two semesters to complete.

Tuition - $160.00 per level. Participants must be 8 years of age or older.
